SUITE TOMATO PIE
INGREDIENTS:

pkg. Martha White Pizza dough mix
4
oz. Tomato sauce
2
large whole tomatoes
1
- 12 oz. pkg. shredded mozzarella cheese
1
– 12 oz. pkg. shredded cheddar cheese
PREPARATION:
Follow
directions on back of package to prepare the pizza dough. Once dough is ready
and spread on pizza pie pan, evenly spread 4 oz. of tomato sauce over the
dough. Next spread the full package of shredded cheddar cheese over the tomato
sauce. Thinly slice two large tomatoes (home grown if possible) and lay over
the cheese. You may have a couple tomato slices left over. Keep them for what’s coming next. Over the
tomatoes, evenly spread ½ package of mozzarella cheese. Place pie in oven for
nine minutes and check to be sure cheese is melted and crust is slightly
browned. Let stand 5-10 minutes before slicing then eat.
LEFTOVER SURPRISE:
With
your leftover tomato slices and mozzarella cheese, make yourself a few Caprese’s.
Start out with a slice of tomato on a plate. Add a leaf of fresh basil and
drizzle with Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Sprinkle some mozzarella cheese over the
tomato and sprinkle with a little more olive oil. Next shake a pinch of oregano
on top of your surprise. This makes a wonderful snack between lunch and dinner,
or an appetizer at dinner.
