HOW TO CLEAN
CAST IRON COOKWARE
Often
when using cast iron cookware, food particles stick to the iron. An easy way to
clean cast iron skillets and other cookware is to sprinkle salt in the skillet
or pot and, using circular motions, wipe with a damp cloth or paper towel (the
cloth is better) until the particles are removed. For more difficult spots, add
a small amount of hot water to the salt and scrape spots. Once you have cleaned
the pan, use a separate dampened cloth to rinse and scrape out the salt.
Thoroughly dry the pan then using a few drops of cooking oil wipe the inside to
keep your cast iron oil-cured and free from rusting. Once you have completed
this it is ready for the next time you want to use it.
